Te Pūtahi Ora is a purpose-built community health centre, designed and delivered to meet a critical healthcare need in the Horowhenua region. The project was delivered as a design and build solution, providing a new, modern health facility capable of supporting multiple healthcare tenants under one roof. While individual tenant fit-outs were delivered under separate contracts, Homestead secured and completed two of these fit-outs as part of the broader development.

The region faced a growing shortage of accessible healthcare services, with thousands of locals unable to access a GP. There was a clear and urgent need for a new health facility that could support primary care and expand into additional services, such as radiology.
From a delivery perspective, the project required absolute programme certainty. Tenants had committed to lease agreements with fixed move-in dates, meaning delays were not an option. The client also needed confidence that the project could be delivered to a standard that reflected its importance to both council stakeholders and the wider community.

Working closely with Bluepencil Architecture, Homestead led the design and construction of the health centre with a strong focus on programme control, quality, and stakeholder coordination.

This disciplined approach ensured the project progressed with certainty, despite the operational complexity of a multi-tenant healthcare environment.

When you’re looking at these sorts of projects that are landmark within the Horowhenua region, you need to make sure that you have a guarantee and a confidence in what you're going to see. Homestead made that possible, and the finishing is second to none.
