Delivered for Kāinga Ora, the Waka Ama Street development was designed to provide high-quality, medium-density housing that responds to growing demand for well-designed, sustainable homes.
Engaged to deliver the project over a 12-month programme, Homestead completed 18 units across a mix of standalone homes, duplexes, and walk-up apartments, carefully balancing density with liveability, access, and on-site parking.
A key focus was lifting the standard of social housing, with all homes designed and built to exceed Homestar 6 certification requirements, ensuring improved energy efficiency, comfort, and long-term performance for residents.
The result is a well-considered residential development that delivers durable, future-focused housing, supporting stronger communities while setting a higher benchmark for quality in the sector.
"Over the past six years I have had the pleasure to work with Homestead Construction on projects from complex pre-cast concrete structures to traditional (timber) construction homes involving difficult site conditions and tight time frames. In all cases, Homestead Construction have exceeded my expectations and did so in ways that ensured my schedule and budget goals were met."
